Pulleys and Gears

Earlier this year, I visited the Copper Hill Mining museum. The recovery of the Ocoee River Valley is a testament to the resilience of Mother Earth. I remember as a child going over there and it looked like Mars. Forty years later, a visitor could barely tell that the whole area was a toxic waste site devoid of plant life. I recommend taking an afternoon to visit the museum, view the landscape and observe the artifacts and relics from an important chapter in the evolution of Southern Appalachian culture.
